We spent 3 years with Him,

We listened to Him,

Our world felt so much better with Him

And those miracles,, wow they were good.

We felt that He was going to be here for ever.

And then we went back to Jerusalem .

We did warn Him

But He took no notice,

How we wished we could have fought away the soldiers in Gethsemane.

Why did Judas, have to betray him

We thought Judas was a dodgy person

Who couldn't be trusted.

And then they took Him away and gave Him an unfair trial.

They sentenced Him to death and we could do nothing about it.

Death by being nailed to a cross

Death by being humiliated.

We were angry, confused and didn't know what to do.

Here was this man, the Son of God, beaten and broken

But yet, He didn't say a Word and just accepted it.

Why, why?

He was twice the man that any of them could ever be.

And as He hung on the cross, our hearts were broken.

We wanted to run away and hide, but somehow we had to stay.

Just before He took His final breath, the sky went darker.

This was horrible, we really are so confused.

The emptiness of now He's died,

The loneliness of not seeing Him again or hearing His voice.

The sky might be black, but so does our lives feel black and empty.

That night was sleepless, tossing and turning, wondering what tomorrow will bring.

Someone had taken Him down and laid Him in their pre-pared tomb.

There was a heavy stone rolled in front and soldiers guarding it

No way to get in, no way to get out.

So that's it, 3 years of being with this amazing man

Has changed our lives, but what now.

The next day was a blur of disbelief.

Did it really happen, did He really die.

Half expecting Him to come into the room as though nothing happened.

But He didn't.

2 days later, Mary came hurriedly knocking on our door.

t was very early morning we were still quite sleepy

I've seen Him she said excitedly, He is risen, He's no longer dead.

Come see, the tomb is empty, the stone has been rolled away.

You heard that earthquake sound earlier,

The soldier guards saw Angels coming down,  they were so afraid they fainted.

We didn't believe her, but had to check it out for ourselves.

So we ran through the city and reached the place where they had buried Him.

We couldn't believe it, the great stone had been moved,

The tomb was empty.

We ran inside, the bandages used to bind the body were tidily placed on the stone

And the clothes that covered His head was tidy but separate.

What had happened?

Where was His body?

So many questions racing through our minds

Where was our Lord?
